Be sure to provide 3 dates that are 2 weeks out from the day that you submit the request. Mindful Mountaineers is a presentation that provides information about the importance of mental well-being. Sponsored by the Department of Wellness and Prevention Services and facilitated by members of WeCARE, students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities that will help them to identify reasons why stress occurs and stress management techniques including, but not limited to sleeping habits and self-care. Time: 50-60 minutes 

Repost:Rethink Trivia is a presentation that provides information and skills about assessing the impact of social media posts, specifically as it relates to suicide prevention and mental health. Sponsored by the Department of Wellness and Prevention Services and facilitated by members of WeCARE, students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of trivia activities that will help them to understand suicide contagion and apply safe messaging techniques in regards to social media posts. (This presentation requires a computer, internet access and a projector/display screen)  Time: 50-60 minutes 

Take Ten is a presentation that provides education regarding meditation techniques, mindfulness skills, and Koru Mindfulness classes. Sponsored by the Department of Wellness and Prevention Services and facilitated by members of WeCARE, students will have the opportunity to practice meditation and engage in group discussion, in order to help them understand how meditation can be used as a stress management tool. Time: 50-60 minutes 


SEXplanations is a presentation that provides information about the importance of sexual health and safer sex practices. Sponsored by the Department of Wellness and Prevention Services and facilitated by members of WeCARE, students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities involving risks associated with sexual activities, barrier methods, barrier negotiation skills with a partner(s) and sexual health resources available on and off-campus. Time: 50-90 minutes 

Party Smart is an interactive, lemonade stand-style presentation that provides education about BAC (Blood Alcohol Content Level) and the resulting physical, mental, and emotional experiences endured from different BAC levels. Sponsored by the Department of Wellness and Prevention Services, students will learn about standard drink sizes pertaining to different types of alcoholic beverages, alcohol use laws, along with binge and problematic drinking. Whether choosing to drink or not to drink, students will learn protective strategies that can assist them in the ability to make informed decisions for self and others regarding alcohol use. Time: 50-60 minutes

Move More: Eat Better is a presentation that provides information about the importance of being physically active. Sponsored by the Department of Wellness and Prevention Services and facilitated by members of WeCARE, students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities that will educate them about exercise guidelines, daly nutrition recommendations,and how to include wellness in their weekly schedules. Participants will also learn about on-campus physical activity and nutrition resources that are available to them. Time: 50-60 minutes 


Wellness Jeopardy is a presentation that provides general information that will help students to make informed decisions about their well-being while at Appalachian State University. Sponsored by the Department of Wellness and Prevention Services and facilitated by members of WeCARE, Wellness Jeopardy provides an overview the services provided by Wellness and Prevention Services along with additional campus partners. (This presentation requires a computer, internet access and a projector/display screen)  Time: 50-60 minutes 

 
Tier 1: Introductions to Ending Violence is a presentation that covers relationships, interpersonal and sexual violence, statistics related to IPV, oppressive language, consent, and victim blaming. (This presentation requires a computer, internet access and a projector/display screen)  Time: 50 minutes


Tier 2: Active Bystander Intervention is a presentation that covers healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, consent, identifying red flags, how to be an active bystander and safely intervene, and on and off campus resources. (This presentation requires a computer, internet access and a projector/display screen)  Time: 50 minutes

Tier 3: Combatting Rape Culture: A Guide to Activism is a presentation that covers understanding what rape culture is and how it is perpetuated, rape myths, sexism, patriarchy, privilege and gender roles, and things you can do daily to combat rape culture. (This presentation requires a computer, internet access and a projector/display screen)  Time: 50 minutes
