The Ombuds Office allows for an impartial resource to consider options for problems encountered, including a review of relevant resources and policy that may apply.

Why visit an Ombuds? It's pretty common to have a moment when you wish you could have a conversation about a problem or something that concerns you with someone who is neutral and can help you to acquire perspective and think about and assess a range of alternatives. The ASU Ombuds Office provides a confidential environment where you can do just that, whether you are a faculty member, a student or an employee of the University in a staff position. Consulting with the Ombud involves a neutral, objective resource to review a difficult circumstance and problem solve options. For some challenges the Ombud will reach out to relevant University parties for information, or to provide shuttle diplomacy. In some circumstances the Ombud might arrange for a facilitated conversation between two or more parties to address a conflict. Consultations with the Ombud are informal and do not obligate a visitor to any formal process.
